Methods HIV Interventions Arizona

HIP/AZ (HIV Intervention and Prevention / Arizona) is a program for people living with HIV and their partners along with individuals at high risk for contracting HIV.

HIP/AZ is a statewide effort with projects occurring at three sites across the state and our services are promoted as METHODS: What Works For You.

Yavapai County Health Department in Cottonwood serves people in Yavapai County. Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS in Phoenix serves people in Maricopa and Pinal Counties. Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation in Tucson serves people in Pima County.

All three sites work with those living with HIV and their partners, sero-discordant couples, men who have sex with men, high risk negatives (including gay and heterosexual individuals) and people who inject drugs.

METHODS: What Works For You is an individual level intervention that uses the stages of change model and focuses on providing support for the following populations:

  • HIV positive individuals and their partners
  • HIV negative individuals at High Risk of contracting HIV
  • Men who have sex with men (MSM)
  • Injection Drug Users ( IDU)
  • Individuals with current substance use/abuse
  • Individuals with a previous or current STD

The METHODS staff is dedicated to providing a strong, nurturing program that will allow clients to make healthier choices regarding sex and drug use behaviors while allowing them to continue working on other aspects of their life.

We provide a supportive intervention that will be a valuable resource to you and assist you in continuing to effectively work toward your life and health goals.
