HIP/AZ
is a program for people living with HIV and their
providers. The project is a statewide effort with
projects occurring in the three regions of Arizona—Northern,
Central, and Southern. In the northern region,
Yavapai County Health Department works with sero-discordant
(one person living with HIV the other is not)
couples. In the central region, Body Positive
works with men who have sex with men. And in the
southern region, the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation
works with men who have sex with men and people
who inject drugs. On a statewide level, interventions
include a media campaign and trainings for AIDS
service providers.
METHODS: What Works For You
METHODS: What Works For You is an individual level intervention that uses the stages of change model and focuses on providing support for the targeted individual (HIV positive men who have sex with men and intravenous drug users). The METHODS staff is dedicated to providing a strong, nurturing program that will allow clients to make changes in sexual and drug sharing risk behaviors while allowing them to continue working on other aspects of their life. We provide a supportive intervention that will be a valuable resource to you and assist you in continuing to effectively work with your clients. METHODS provides services in Southern Arizona (Tucson), Central Arizona (Phoenix) and Northern Arizona (Yavapai County).
